Jeremy Lin To Brooklyn Nets Haters: ‘We’re Making The Playoffs’ (VIDEO)
The 2017-2018 season will mark the 6th season the Nets have been in Brooklyn, and although they’ve been in the playoffs for three of those years, no one actually takes the team too serious when it comes to being competitive.
The team won a league-worst 20 games last year, and then followed that up by trading away last year’s top scorer, Brook Lopez, for point guard D’Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov.
There’s at least one player on the team that doesn’t care about past records and what others are saying, because this team is going to be successful next year. That player is guard Jeremy Lin.
“We’re making the playoffs. I don’t care what anybody else tell me,” Lin proclaimed while answering questions from Nets fans over the weekend.
Most of the big stars in the Eastern Conference have bolted for the Western Conference, which you would think could make the road for the Nets a little easier, but the team has posted win totals of just 20 and 21 over the past two years.
Aside from his bold prediction, Lin is eager to set foot on the court with newly acquired players D’Angelo Russell and DeMarre Carroll.
“I can’t wait to play with (Russell). We’re going to do some serious damage next year,” Lin said.
“Versatility, veteran leadership. We need leadership a lot,” Lin said of Carroll.
