Lonzo Ball Admits He’s Wearing Different Shoes to Start Bidding War Between Nike, Adidas, UA
The biggest story of the Summer League, aside from the rises of Dennis Smith and Lonzo Ball, is the drama surrounding Ball’s shoe deal, or lack thereof. His father LaVar has worked tirelessly at promoting the Big Baller Brand, which Lonzo wore early on. But now it seems that he’s been playing musical chairs with brands over the past five games for reasons unknown.
Well, NOW those reasons are known: Lonzo’s trying to get a shoe deal by wearing brands like Nike, Adidas and Under Armour, in an attempt to show them what they’re missing out on. The belief is that Lonzo and LaVar are trying to get these companies back to the bargaining table so that they can discuss a potential billion-dollar deal with Big Baller Brand.
Speaking after rocking Jordan 31s following his Summer League semifinal victory against Dallas, Ball admitted as much.
“You’re wearing the Jordan 31s tonight … are you trying to start a bidding war here?” – @CassidyHubbarth

So, are there any bridges left intact to salvage a deal? I’m guessing so.
