Cancer Survivor James Conner Has The NFL’s Best-Selling Rookie Jersey
Former Pitt running back James Conner was selected with the 105th pick in this year’s NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he finds himself atop the league in jersey sales.
Just over a year ago, James Conner was in the middle of chemotherapy treatment, fighting a battle against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma that left him down but not out. Defeating cancer was more than enough for people to have Conner’s back. They showed their appreciation for his will to fight by buying his jersey by the thousands.
According to data released by Dick’s Sporting Goods, Conner’s jersey is the No. 1 best seller among NFL rookies this year. Only Cowboys QB Dak Prescott and Patriots QB Tom Brady have sold more jerseys this year.
The remaining list of jersey sales for rookies:
2. Houston’s Deshaun Watson
3. Cleveland’s Myles Garrett
4. Chicago’s Mitch Trubisky
