REPORT: Sacramento Kings To Offer De’Aaron Fox For Kyrie Irving
Hold on to your seats, folks!
The Cleveland Cavaliers are at a dangerous crossroads right now, and the state of the franchise largely depends on the next big decision they have to make.
On the heels of Cavs star point guard Kyrie Irving demanding a trade last week, Cleveland is now faced with two choices: They can either ignore the request, as Irving has two more years left on his contract, and risk having a disgruntled player sabotage the season. Or they can find a trade partner and get some key pieces in return to make LeBron James happy in hopes he doesn’t bolt in free agency after next season.
There seems to already be a squad willing to do just that, as the Sacramento Kings reportedly plan to offer rookie point guard De’Aaron Fox along with other players (such as Kosta Koufos) in a trade package for Irving, according to Sam Amico of Amico Hoops.
“The Sacramento Kings are putting together a trade offer for Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving, league sources told Amico Hoops late Saturday.
The proposed package is expected to include rookie point guard De’Aaron Fox, sources said, and perhaps center Kosta Koufos, as well as others to help make the salaries match.”
I’m sure a trade of this magnitude would be brought to LeBron’s attention before the Cavs go through with it.
