Seahawks’ Michael Bennett To Host Benefit For Seattle Woman Shot By Police
Michael Bennett has always been a man of the people.
The Seattle Seahawks defensive end, along with his wife Pele, plans to host a benefit and rally for a Seattle woman who was fatally shot by police back in June, according to the Seattle Times.
“The event notice says it is sponsored by The King County NAACP and the nonprofit Not This Time. It notes that “the family of Charleena Lyles, Giovonn McDade and other family members of lost loved ones will be in attendance.”
Charleena Lyles, a mother of four. was gunned down by police after she had called the Seattle Police Department for help. Police later reported she had a knife in her hand.
The Facebook event states the rally will take place at Judkins Park on July 29th.
