Clippers Superfan Serenades Chris Paul with “Baby Come Back,” Gets Immediately Shut Down by James Harden (Video)

A Clippers fan tried to convince Chris Paul to come back to Los Angeles on Sunday. Unfortunately, he got shut down pretty quickly by none other than James Harden.

Both Paul and Harden were in Los Angeles for the Drew League, a charity pro-am tournament founded in 1973 as a way to help college and pro basketball players reconnect with the community. During a break in the action, well-known Clippers superfan “Clipper Darrell,” host of “The Fan Truth” show on Dash Radio, tried to save his team by making one last emotional appeal to CP3.

Naturally, that appeal included lip-syncing to “Baby Come Back,” the 1977 soft-rock classic by the band Player. Unfortunately, Paul’s new Houston Rockets teammate James Harden was also in the building, and he shut Darrell down real quick.

Take a look:

You’ve got to admire Darrell’s passion. Personally I would have gone with “Back for Good” by 90s boy band Take That, but that’s probably just a generational preference.

Of course, while Darrell’s plea was unsuccessful, I hear there’s another pretty good point guard on the market for a new team. The Clippers might not be on his list, but you can never underestimate the power of song.
