REPORT: Kyrie Irving’s Decision To Request Trade Was Influenced By Justin Bieber’s Pastor
As if this story couldn’t get any more bizarre…
Social media was set abuzz last week after reports that Kyrie Irving demanded a trade because he didn’t want to play alongside LeBron James any longer.
That news begs the following question: Who, if anybody, influenced Kyrie’s decision to randomly demand a trade from a team where he is almost guaranteed a trip to the NBA Finals every year?
According to a report from TMZ Sports, someone linked to famous pop singer Justin Bieber has something to do with this.
“Church sources tell us Kyrie, who’s been an active member for a long time, met with Lentz of Hillsong Church earlier this month about his desires to step out of LeBron James‘ shadow. We’re told Lentz didn’t tell Kyrie to “leave Cleveland” — instead he listened to Kyrie’s concerns, and encouraged him to make the decision he felt was best.”
You read that correctly. Church sources. TMZ has sources in the church now.
Lentz’s name has been in the news after the announcement of Justin Bieber’s cancellation of the remaining dates on his Purpose World Tour. Biebs spent the last few months with the pastor and people started to put 2 and 2 together, suggesting the pastor had something to do with the cancellations—allegations Bieber has since shut down.
