Giancarlo Stanton Smashes Epic Home Run Off Jason Grilli, Then Rubs It in His Face (Video)
Big league pitchers may want to think twice before celebrating a strikeout against the Marlins’ Giancarlo Stanton. Just ask Jason Grilli.
Grilli struck Stanton out to end Tuesday’s game, a 10-4 win for the Rangers. Afterward, Grilli celebrated with some passionate fist pumps like it was 1-1 in the top of the ninth in Game 7 of the World Series.
As you probably know, that kind of thing is against The Unwritten Rules of Baseball™. And Stanton took note.
On Wednesday Grilli faced Stanton again, but under very different circumstances. This time it was the Marlins who had a huge lead, and Stanton smashed a Jason Grilli fastball a whopping 468 feet. Then, as he exited the batters box, he taunted Grilli with the same fist pumps he had performed the night before.
Here’s a look at the dinger from Statcast:
Here’s a compilation comparing the celebrations of Stanton and Grilli:

That’s a pretty good Jason Grilli imitation. Stanton had clearly practiced in the event that he got an opportunity to exact revenge.
Pretty boss move if you ask me.
