REPORT: Carmelo Anthony Only Wants A Trade To Rockets, Not Cavaliers Because of Kyrie Drama
Carmelo Anthony knows what he wants and he won’t accept anything less.
Just a few weeks ago, the New York Knicks star was dead set on taking his talents to either the Houston Rockets or Cleveland Cavaliers for a shot at winning a ring.
Then the whole Kyrie Irving drama happened.
The Cleveland Cavaliers star point guard requested a trade and Melo’s focus quickly turned to solely the Rockets. Now he won’t waive his no-trade clause to land on the Cavs because of all the drama surrounding the two stars who are destined for a divorce soon.
“Hooking up with his buddies Chris Paul and James Harden in Houston has become Anthony’s priority. Even the prospect of playing again for former Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni has not deterred Anthony, who rebelled against his speed-ball offense and reliance on Jeremy Lin, leading to the coach’s resignation in 2012.
Anthony only wishes to waive his no-trade clause to go to the Rockets. Not even Cleveland, which is in turmoil, is good enough for Anthony as the Cavaliers are dealing with Kyrie Irving’s trade demand.”
Not a bad idea as Melo could end up being the only star left in Cleveland once Kyrie is traded and if LeBron James bolts for the Lakers after the 2017-2018 season.
The Rockets, however, have been unable to find a third team willing to take on Ryan Anderson’s remaining three years and $61 million to facilitate a deal to land Melo.
