Jacksonville Jaguars Owner ‘Absolutely’ Open To Signing Colin Kaepernick
For the first time since Colin Kaepernick became a free agent after opting out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers, an owner has spoken out about their willingness to potentially sign him.
Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan spoke with Mike Dempsey of 1010XL during the team’s thrid preseason game and answered the question of whether the team would be willing to sign Colin Kaepernick.
“Absolutely,” Khan said, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.
Three years into the league, Jaguars projected starting quarterback Blake Bortles has struggled each and every year. Each season he has produced a minimum of sixteen interceptions. During training camp so far this year, he’s produced even more INTs, and his teammates are extremely bothered by it.
Kaepernick still remains unsigned following a season where he threw for 16 TD’s and 4 INT’s. The belief is that he’s essentially being blackballed after kneeling in protest of the National Anthem in 2016.
