Seahawks’ Michael Bennett Sits During National Anthem; Joined By Teammate Justin Britt
Last year, Colin Kaepernick set the trend of athletes either kneeling, sitting, or raising a fist in protest during the National Anthem, to bring attention to the social injustices levied against minorities in this country.
This year, Michael Bennett has white players finally participating in the protest, just one week after he asked for them to stand together with their brothers.
On Friday, the Seattle Seahawks defensive end once again sat during the National Anthem just before the game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Joining him with a hand on his shoulder was his teammate Justin Britt once again.
