Royals’ Danny Duffy Cited For DUI After Passing Out In Burger King Drive-Thru
Somebody had a good night or a bad night, depending on how you want to look at this situation.
Kansas City Royals left-hander Danny Duffy recently got himself arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The only reason he was caught is because he was trying to grab some fast-food.
According to Burger King employee, Duffy passed out in the drive through. They called cops to wake him.

Cops woke him up and put some nice jewelry around his wrists. Workers became concerned after he ordered but failed to pick up his food, so one of them then reached into Duffy’s car to put it into park before calling police.
Sirens nearby woke him up. Duffy tried unsuccessfully to hop into the passenger side and ask one of the people in line to hop into his car to save him.
Royals general manager Dayton Moore had this to say:
“We are obviously disappointed in the news we have received regarding Danny Duffy’s DUI arrest on Sunday night,” Moore said in an earlier statement Tuesday morning after news of Duffy’s arrest broke. “Danny was not part of the team traveling back from Cleveland on Sunday because he had returned to Kansas City a day earlier to undergo an MRI examination. We are still in the early stages of gathering the details, but I know that Danny has always been accountable as a member of this organization and we expect the same accountability from him as this process moves forward. We obviously do not condone anyone driving while under the influence, but this is now a legal matter and we will allow the process to unfold and cannot comment any further.”
