Hamilton Tiger-Cats Reportedly Worked Out Manziel, But Saw ‘Too Many Red Flags’
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League are winless on the season, as they currently sit at 0-8. The team is looking for any answers they can get at quarterback, and they even went as far as contacting former NFL QB Johnny Manziel.
According to TSN’s Dave Naylor and Farhan Lalji, the club worked out the former Cleveland Browns QB in Buffalo last week, but elected not to sign the often controversial 24-year-old.
Sources told them that the winless squad wasn’t convinced that Manziel “is in game shape or that his off-field regimen is consistent with that of someone dedicated to professional football.”
“Too many red flags,” one source added.
That is not good for a guy who is looking to make a comeback to the NFL after being released by the league’s worst team last offseason.
