Last summer, after Kevin Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors, former teammate Russell Westbrook kicked off the infamous cold war between the two by posting a pic of some cupcakes on Instagram. Pretty soon all of KD’s critics were calling him “cupcake,” and the pejorative nickname became a rallying cry for disgruntled Thunder fans.

Now, after winning a championship, and being named NBA Finals MVP, and reminding everyone that this “cupcake” is one of the top three basketball players on the planet, Kevin Durant is trolling the trolls…with cupcake-themed sneakers.

On Tuesday, Nike unveiled a new colorway for Durant’s signature KD 10 sneaker. It features a red and black flyknit upper with a frosty white sole. It’s called the KDX Red Velvet, and just to make sure nobody misses the connection, Nike released a photo of the shoe surrounded by a bunch of red velvet cupcakes.

Take a look:

“With a style of play as smooth as velvet, KD is known for having the most fluid game in the game today,” Nike explained in an official news release. “Effortlessly making defenders look helpless, always ready to cook his next victim. He dominates the game with unrivaled versatility, forever motivated by the sweet taste of victory. At the end of the day, winning is all that matters and anything else is just icing on the cake. The KDX ‘Red Velvet’ celebrates the smoothest player in the game and his undying quest for the sweet taste of victory.”

Or in other words, eat sh*t, haters.
