Tom Coughlin Says Jacksonville Jaguars Have No Interest In Signing Colin Kaepernick
The 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars looked poised to make some noise. Unfortunately, the quarterback position continues to hold the team back with the likes of Blake Bortles at the helm. And backing him up is Chad Henne. Nuff said.
With a clear need for an upgrade at the position, Jaguars president of football operations Tom Coughlin made it clear on Saturday that the team has no interest in signing Colin Kaepernick.
“We did the study, the research. … We weren’t interested,” Coughlin said, according to John Oehser of the Jaguars’ official website.
Reporters asked Coughlin to elaborate further on why the team didn’t want to sign Kaepernick, but he declined to comment.
This is extremely confusing, seeing as how Jaguars owner Shahid Khan stated just last week that the team was “absolutely” open to signing the former San Francisco 49ers QB.
