That Epic 87-Yard Louisiana Tech Fumble Is Even Better with Benny Hill Music (Videos)

Until Saturday, if somebody had told you it was possible for a football team to go from 2nd-and-goal to 3rd-and-93 in one play without a single penalty flag being thrown, you probably wouldn’t have believed them.

Now, thanks to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, everybody knows exactly how such a thing can happen. First you need a terrible snap that goes way over the quarterback’s head. Then you need both teams to fail spectacularly at recovering the loose ball before somebody eventually falls on top of the thing at the other end of the field.

That is exactly what happened in Ruston, Louisiana, on Saturday. The sad thing is, Louisiana Tech was already losing 57-14. This was their chance to reduce a 43-point deficit and earn back a sliver of their pride.

If you have not seen the play yet, or you just want to watch it again for the 300th time, take a look:

A lot of people were quick to proclaim this the worst play in college football history, and they’re probably right. At the very least this has to be a tie.

Of course, any time something this embarrassing happens during a sporting event, somebody goes and sets it to “Yakety Sax,” a.k.a. the Benny Hill theme song. The Louisiana Tech fumble is no exception.

Take a look:

If that’s not good enough for you, though, here it is set to the Titanic theme song, courtesy of the folks at Titanic TD:

Sorry, Bulldogs. There’s no mercy on the internet.
