Jaguars Tailgate Featured a Mayonnaise Bellyflop Contest (Video)
Jacksonville Jaguars fans who believed the hype after their team’s shocking Week 1 victory came crashing back to earth in Week 2. But at least they had a damn good time tailgating.
The Jags got outscored by the Tennessee Titans 17-0 in the third quarter on Sunday, ultimately losing by a score of 37-16. One week after recording 10 sacks against the Houston Texans, the Jags defense recorded just one against Marcus Mariota. Quarterback/dartmaster Blake Bortles went 20/34 with a touchdown and two interceptions, while running back Leonard Fournette rushed for just 40 yards on 14 carries, discovering, perhaps, that the NFL isn’t so easy after all.
It wasn’t all doom and gloom for Jags fans, though. Out in the parking lot before the game, somebody organized a mayonnaise bellyflop contest, wherein people tried to jump into a giant vat of the fatty condiment as stylishly as possible.
It was absolutely disgusting. But also pretty awesome.
Presumably the winner was this guy, who sported a Batman mask, taped out nipples, and a giant black wig stuffed into his star-spangled Speedos:

If you'd told me at Harvard that I'd be getting paid to judge a mayonnaise belly flop contest at a Jags tailgate, I woulda said… perfect pic.twitter.com/293JE7dGkZ

This is pretty much the most Florida thing I’ve ever seen. I hope Jags fans can find a way to top it next week.
