Ben McAdoo Throws Eli Manning Under the Bus After 24-10 Loss to Lions (Video)
Giants coach Ben McAdoo had a lot to answer for following the Giants’ 24-10 loss to Detroit, and in doing so, he decided that Eli Manning would make for a convenient scapegoat.
Speaking to the press afterward, McAdoo cited “sloppy quarterback play” in the team’s failures. When asked why he wouldn’t address this by calling a timeout, he stated simply (via Deadspin), “Because we have a veteran quarterback who has played a lot of football and I expect us to get the ball snapped.”
Ben McAdoo up here ripping Eli Manning.

He’s not wrong, but normally, you don’t see a coach so quick to publicly chastise his starting quarterback (or any other player) so early on in the season. Maybe it’s for the sake of self-preservation, letting the public know how bad the team is.
Whatever the reason, it can’t be great for chemistry.
