Cyborg No Longer Interested in Fighting Ronda Rousey Because She Sucks Now
For years, Cris Cyborg had been trolling Ronda Rousey to goad her into a fight. When she finally signed to the UFC, most thought it would happen soon.
Then Rousey fought Holly Holm, got knocked out, and everything changed drastically. She didn’t fight again for a year and when she came back, Amanda Nunes made easy work of her in 48 seconds.
On Monday’s edition of the MMA Hour, Rousey’s longtime coach Edmond Tarverdyan stated that he sees Cyborg as the perfect match-up if Rousey was to return to the Octagon.
“That’s the one,” Tarverdyan said. “I want that fight. When I trained Ronda, I know Ronda could beat Cyborg. I know that. Cyborg is too slow.”
Unfortunately, Cyborg doesn’t feel that way anymore.
“If Ronda wants to come back for a fight,” Cyborg said, “I believe it’s better for her to fight Miesha Tate. I’m in another stage of my career. I wanted to fight Ronda when she was psychologically well and confident.”
“When I wanted to fight her it was because she was at the top of her game and she had all of the confidence in the world,” Cyborg said in a statement
“She had not been KO’d twice in a row and some people were actually saying she could beat Floyd Mayweather in a fight.”
Even though she has no interest in stepping foot in an Octagon with Rousey, she would fight her in WWE ring.
“Now, if she wants to make a good fight for the fans, we can make it at WWE,” she said. “It would fit perfectly [for her] to go to Hollywood, and for me would be another challenge in my career.
“And something brilliant, her coach would fit perfectly in her corner in WWE, he’s nothing but a joke.”
