REPORT: Carmelo Anthony’s Inner Circle Hopeful For Trade To Houston Rockets By Monday
It has been a few weeks since we’ve heard anything about the New York Knicks possibly trading Carmelo Anthony.
Back in July, the reported trade that should’ve put him in Houston was on the “two-yard line,” but the Rockets didn’t have the assets the Knicks wanted to get that deal done. A third team was needed to make the deal go through, but they just couldn’t find one.
We are now less than a month from the start of the regular season and rumblings from Carmelo’s inner circle suggest that they are hopeful a trade to the Rockets will get done by Monday, according to NY Daily News.
“Anthony’s camp is cautiously optimistic that a deal will be struck before Monday, and trying not to think about the potential media circus that will take place if Carmelo is still with the Knicks. Two weeks ago, Carmelo’s wife, La La, said the family thought a trade would have been completed by now.
Mentally, Carmelo and his family have moved on to Houston. Reality is another story.”
All Houston needs to do is find someone willing to take on Ryan Anderson’s contract. He’s owed over $60M for the next three seasons. Until they find a new home for him and his massive contact, Carmelo will be stuck in New York.
