Herschel Walker: “Everyone Needs To Stand” During Anthem, Wants NFL To Ban Kneeling (VIDEO)
As the league gets set to face yet another round of protests during the National Anthem on Sunday, there’s at least one former NFL star that is not on board with the demonstrations at all.
Former NFL great Herschel Walker spoke with TMZ on Friday and expressed his disappointment with the many players kneeling. He wanted to know where all these protests where during the offseason.
“If you got to protest, protest off the job,” said Walker. “Where was everyone before the season started? I didn’t see anyone protesting in front of the White House, protesting in front of Congress or protesting in front of police officers. Why did we wait until football season started to start this again? If you got to be behind it, you got to be behind it all the way.”
“Everyone needs to stand. Everyone needs to be respectful,” he said. “And then what I’d do is, ‘Guys, during the offseason, if you want to go walk the picket line in front of Congress, I will be right there with you.’”
Walker, who is a devout Trump supporter, says although Trump says things he doesn’t necessarily agree with at times, he acknowledges that the President is passionate about respect for the Flag, and he thinks that’s a great thing.
