James Harden Calls Kevin McHale a ‘Clown’ In Response To His Leadership Comments (VIDEO)
James Harden is not one to be disrespected without returning fire.
On Friday, former Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale said the Rockets trading for PG Chris Paul was huge because he’s a leader and James Harden is not.
“I think it makes them a much better team because you had James Harden with the ball, he’s fantastic with the ball – the guys got phenomenal vision, James can see all the passes and do everything but James is not a leader. He tried being a leader last year and doing that stuff, I think Chris Paul is going to help him do that stuff and get back to just hoop and play. On every team you need to have a voice, you have to have somebody that when he says something, everybody listens. Look, if James tells you ‘Chuck, you’ve got to play better [defense]!’ Are you going to listen to him? You’re kidding me! I lived through it, everybody in the locker room [shook their head].”
After hearing those comments, the MVP candidate fired back at his former coach, calling him a ‘clown,’ and accusing him of never teaching him how to be a leader.

McHale is the winningest coach in that franchise’s history. He led the team to its first Western Conference Finals in 18 years, but was fired just six months later—only eleven games into the 2015-2016 season—after the team started the year 4-7.
