Dannon Yogurt Has Replaced Cam Newton With Dak Prescott After Sexist Comments
Dannon Yogurt wasted little time replacing Cam Newton. The company ditched the Carolina Panthers quarterback on Thursday following his sexist response to a female reporter’s question about route running.
After being asked by the Charlotte Observer’s Jourdan Rodrigue about wide receiver Devin Funchess‘ “physical routes” during Wednesday’s press conference, Newton responded by saying, “It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes like … it’s funny.”
Cam may have found that to be funny, but Dannon Yogurt did not, so they decided to part ways with the former NFL MVP. And on Sunday, the company announced that they would be replacing one superstar quarterback with another, naming Dallas Cowboys play-caller Dak Prescott as their new spokesperson.
According to ESPN, Prescott is already set to take part in his first commercial with Dannon this week in Dallas. This is just the latest in a long list of endorsement deals for Prescott, which includes Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Campbell’s Chunky Soup, 7-Eleven, New Era Caps, AT&T, DirecTV and Beats.
