Nobody knows if Joel Embiid will ever be able to play an entire NBA season without his brittle giant bones cracking under the weight of his 7-foot 250-pound frame. What we do know is that, if it ever happens, he will be practically unstoppable.

The Philadelphia 76ers big man made his preseason debut against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night, fresh off signing a five-year $146.5 million contract extension chock full of performance bonuses. All he did was score 22 points, grab seven boards, and dish three assists in just 15 minutes of action.

Let’s take a look at some of the highlights, shall we?

Here’s Embiid channelling his inner Dirk Nowitzki with a fall-back jumper off one leg:

Here he is squaring up as if the defense isn’t even there, then helpfully pointing out that the Nets were having a very hard time guarding him:

Here he is coming out of nowhere to stuff the ball right down the throat of Brooklyn’s Allen Crabbe:

Here he is dishing the ball to Ben Simmons, Philly’s other young superstar:

And here’s Embiid draining a shot from 10 feet beyond the three-point arc after the whistle, just to show off:

Here’s hoping the 76ers wrap this guy in bubble wrap and place him in a hyperbaric chamber in between games and practices. The NBA needs him scoring points on the court, not just on Twitter.
