Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney Congratulated Syracuse Players In Their Locker Room After Upset Win
Talk about class.
After his No. 2 ranked Tigers lost to an unranked Syracuse team on Friday night, 27-24, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney could have been a bitter old dude who didn’t want to talk to anyone, and we all would have understood. After all, his team had just lost their first game of the season, putting their National Championship hopes in jeopardy in the process.
But that’s not Dabo Swinney.
Rather than sulk about the loss, after the game Dabo sought out the Syracuse players and congratulated each and every one of them, one by one, in the Orange’s locker room.
What did the Syracuse players think of this gesture? Judging by this tweet from defensive tackle Kayton Samuels, they were awfully impressed:
Dabo just solidified my respect for him. Came in our locker room, shook our hands and congratulated us. WOW. That’s a dude right there✊
