Seahawks’ Michael Bennett Stands For Anthem To Support Military Before Veterans Day
For the very first time all season, Michael Bennett was spotted standing during the playing of the National Anthem.
The Seattle Seahawks defensive end vowed to sit during the National Anthem for every game this year, but he stood during the anthem ahead of Thursday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. According to him, his decision to stand was in support of the military before Veterans Day this weekend.

During the telecast, Mike Tirico told viewers, “Bennett says he stood tonight to honor all members of the military, including his dad, who was in the Navy for a decade.” He also wanted to make it clear that his protests have not been aimed at military members.
