On Wednesday, it was reported that Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor would be benched in favor of backup rookie QB Nathan Peterman for the team’s upcoming game against the Chargers. Something about that decision didn’t feel right with Taylor.

Along with getting stomped out by the New Orleans Saints in embarrassing fashion, Tyrod threw for a putrid 56 yards and 1 interception in the Week 10 loss.

Last month, Taylr made a comment that made waves when he suggested that Black quarterbacks have to be twice as good and held to a higher standard than Caucasian QB’s.

“It’s always going to be twice as bad just because of who I am – an African-American quarterback,” Taylor says, echoing a familiar refrain among people of color, regardless of professional status. “Look across the league, man. We’re held to a certain standard. We almost have to be perfect.”

It was later mentioned on ESPN Radio’s The Dan LeBatard Show that Taylor believes his original comments extend to his current benching by the team.

Taylor believing he was benched because of his skin color surely upset a bunch of people and they spoke out about it on social media.
