Utah Parents Want High School to Change Mascot Name To Something That Sounds Less Like ‘Penis’

Well, if you thought the epidemic of sheltering kids from every little hardship and quirk life has to offer has gone too far…this probably won’t change your mind.

A man named Kyle Fraughton apparently has some time on his hands, because he put together a Change.org petition to change the mascot name of soon-to-open Farmington High School in Utah.

He’s concerned the plural of the mascot name sounds too much like “penises.”

Their mascot is the Phoenix, the plural of which is Phoenices.

He said to a local paper“I looked on Google and a couple hits down I saw that the plural of phoenix was either phoenixes or phoenices. I have no interest in my daughter or my son playing sports and getting referred to as something like a penis.”

Remarkably, 31,000 similarly-sensitive folks have signed the petition.

God help us.
