Sioux Falls Goalie Scores an Unlikely Empty-Netter, Celebrates Accordingly (VIDEO)
In NHL history, only seven goals have been scored by goalies on direct shots. That’s about one every decade-and-a-half or so, folks. Even though Mikhail Bardin isn’t in the NFL, the Sioux Falls Stampede goalie made the most of a very rare occasion by pulling out all the stops in his goal celebration.
By way of context, the other team, the Muskegon Lumberjacks, had pulled their goalie down 6-4 in the third when the 19-year-old goalie sent the puck long to seal the game and carve out a small spot in hockey history.
