It was just supposed to be another fight, until it wasn’t and Holly Holm shook up the MMA world by knocking Ronda Rousey out. She wouldn’t fight again for a year, and when she did, Amanda Nunes made easy work of her in 48 seconds. It was embarrassing, to say the least, to take so much time off, only to get pummeled in the Octagon once again.

It’s been almost another year since her last fight and Rousey has yet to confirm whether she’s done with the sport or not. That non-decision has UFC President Dana White on edge, not because he’s waiting for her to come back, but because he doesn’t want to see her in the Octagon ever again.

White explained to MMA Junkie why he doesn’t want to see the one-time UFC women’s bantamweight champion fighting anymore.

“I wouldn’t want to see it,” White told MMAjunkie. “I don’t want it to have to happen. I care about her, and she’s got enough money. She’s got enough money and all of that stuff. I don’t want to see it happen.”

“She has not retired,” White said on Tuesday. “USADA is still popping up at her house testing her, but she refuses to retire.”

“I don’t know. I honestly don’t know,” White said. ” … She’s not ready to say, ‘I quit.’ She’s not ready to say, ‘I’m done,’ for whatever reason. She doesn’t tick like everyone else ticks.

Since her consecutive losses, Rousey has carved out an impressive TV and film career, while also marrying fellow fighter Travis Browne.
