Terrifying Video Shows Boulder Breaking Off In Rock Climber’s Hand (VIDEO)
We like to think of rocks ass pretty structurally sound, right? Well, that’s USUALLY the case, but they’ve been sitting around a long time, so don’t take their strength for granted.
A rock climber in Little Rock Canyon, Utah was bouldering when a warning crack appeared with a little poof of dust. Seconds later, a sizable chunk of the rock fell in a terrifying instant.
Here’s the video. The anticipation might kill you.
The climber was injured from the fall and took 25 minutes to walk a quarter-mile to his car, where he drove himself to the hospital. He’s better and back to climbing again now.
Yikes. There’s not a whole lot you can do to prepare for something like that. Well, besides of course, NOT GOING ROCK CLIMBING EVER.
That’s the big takeaway here. Don’t trust rocks. Not one bit.
