Drake Spawned Hilarious New Meme While Serving as Sideline Reporter for Raptors on Thursday (VIDEOS)

Drake Sideline Reporter Raptors Game

Team president Masai Ujiri deserves most of the credit for turning the Toronto Raptors into a good basketball team. But Toronto native Drake gets the credit for making them a cool basketball team.

Ever since the Raptors made Drake their “global brand ambassador,” and started putting him front and center on the sidelines, handing out Drake lint rollers and holding annual “Drake Nights,” their social standing in Toronto and in the NBA has increased significantly.

On Thursday the Raptors took their relationship with Drake to another level, temporarily promoting him from celebrity cheerleader to sideline reporter and courtside analyst for their game against the Charlotte Hornets.

All in all it was a successful experiment, too. Here’s Drake making fun of Jeremy Lamb‘s leg tattoo:

And here he is interviewing Raptors superstar Kyle Lowry, spending more time talking about the way Lowry tucked in his shirt than anything actually related to basketball:

Of course, no public appearance by Drake would be complete unless he spawned a new meme. Sure enough, he did just that with this priceless reaction to getting caught on camera pouring a Perrier into a beer cup:
