Little Girl’s Reaction to Meeting Russell Westbrook at Christmas Charity Event Will Melt Your Icy Heart (VIDS + PICS)
The Oklahoma City Thunder held their annual “Holiday Assist” Christmas charity event on Monday night. The event pairs Thunder players with needy children, who then get to go on Christmas shopping sprees at a local Target.
As you can imagine, all the kids had an absolutely wonderful time. However, one kid in particular was especially overwhelmed with emotion…because she got to go shopping with reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Russell Westbrook.
Just take a look at her reaction when she finds out that Santa Russ is going to be her shopping buddy:

Absolutely priceless. Here she is a little later while shopping with Russ:
A day of smiles and tears of joy. Our 10th annual Holiday Assist shopping for the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program of @sunbeamokc. More photos, video coming to okcthunder.com. The whole team was there. Holiday Assist presented by Cox.

Of course, while Russ may score all the points and grab all the rebounds, he wasn’t the only Thunder player who made someone cry on Monday. Take a look at this touching moment between Raymond Felton and one mom as he tells her that he’s paid for her kids’ shopping spree so she can keep all the Target gift cards:
And now we’re all crying.
Well done, Thunder.
