Watch ESPN OTL Reporter Grill An Angry Tom Izzo With Sexual Assault Questions (VIDEO)
It’s been a rough week for Michigan State University, to say the least. After Larry Nassar was sentenced to pretty much a lifetime in jail, another report from ESPN’s Outside The Lines broke that claimed the Spartans’ issues with sexual misconduct and their failure to report it extended well beyond the disgraced former gymnastics trainer.
On Sunday, Tom Izzo and the MSU men’s basketball team were hoping to put all the noise behind them for a few hours when they took on Maryland. But almost immediately following their 74-68 road victory, the conversation quickly turned back to focusing on the sexual assault taking place in East Lansing.
While speaking with the media during his postgame press conference, Izzo was pressed on several issues, including reports that a former undergraduate student assistant was allowed to continue coaching on the team even after he had been charged with punching a female at a bar, and accused of sexually assaulting another female that same year.
Needless to say, Izzo didn’t feel like talking about it, and at one point he appeared to grow quite frustrated with the line of questioning. And to that we say, too bad for him.
