REPORT: LAPD Reached Out To The 4 People Jonathan Martin Threatened To Shoot In Social Media Post
On Friday, yet another high school had to be shut down after a threat was posted on social media, but this time it wasn’t a current student. Rather, it was a former student who went on to play in the NFL.
Former Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Jonathan Martin was detained Friday in Southern California after he posted on Instagram a picture of a shotgun and shell casings. He also added the Twitter names of several people to the photo, including Bills lineman Richie Incognito.
“When you’re a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide or revenge,” Martin wrote over a photo posted Thursday on his verified Instagram account.
According to TMZ, Martin had recently purchased two guns, including the one he posted online. The LAPD is said to be treating this threat very seriously.
“The LAPD does not believe ex-NFL player Jonathan Martin‘s gun photo on Instagram was a harmless social media prank — they’re treating it as a “serious threat” … this according to sources directly involved in the investigation.
We’re told police are working with all 4 individuals tagged in Martin’s post to make sure they’re safe.”
Harvard Westlake shut classes down on Friday amid the threat.
