This is the way you want to end your basketball career as a senior in high school.

Julian McGarvey will forever be remembered at Ardsley High School. After his team trailed opponent Tappan Zee 51-49 in the waning seconds of the boy’s Class AA final at the Westchester County Center, the senior stole the inbounds pass and proceeded to launch the ball the length of the court, hitting nothing but net to send the place into a frenzy.

For the the ones who believe he may have gotten away with a few steps there:

The craziest thing about this is McGarvey missed a pair of free throws with 3.9 seconds left that would’ve tied the game and possibly sent it to OT, but he decided to make himself a hero just moments later.

“That was the greatest moment of my life,” McGarvey said after celebrating the win. “This is what being a high school basketball player is all about.”
