Here’s Josh McCown Signing His Jets Contract…in a Chick-fil-A Parking Lot (TWEET)
After officially missing out on Kirk Cousins, who agreed to a fully guaranteed three-year $84 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday, the New York Jets went with Plan B, resigning veteran Josh McCown to a one-year, $10 million contract.
McCown, 38, is coming off the best season of his career in which he threw for 2,926 yards with 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions. However, he knew his free agency would depend on the chain reaction set off by Cousins. So his plan this week was to just hang out with his family in Texas until he got a call from his agent.
Of course, that call ended up coming earlier than expected. And when McCown found out it was from the Jets, which meant he wouldn’t have to fly all over the country to meet with other teams, he signed the offer right then and there—which happened to be in the parking lot of his local Chick-fil-A.

Then, presumably, he celebrated by eating a chicken sandwich.
