Floyd Mayweather Says He’s Applying For MMA License, Will Need 6-8 Months To Train (VIDEO)
Floyd Mayweather wants it to be known that he is dead serious about crossing over into the world of Mixed Martial Arts.
The retired boxing legend ended his career at 50-0 after defeating Conor McGregor by TKO last year. Rumors had been swirling that he may try his luck in the UFC. Over the past few months, Mayweather has been teasing fans with clips of him inside the Octagon at his gym. He’s also been heard throwing shots at McGregor in the process.
Mayweather has been very talkative lately regarding his plans to jump in the Octagon. He just recently informed TMZ that he’s planing to get his MMA license soon, and only needs 6-8 months to prepare for his first fight.
“Everything takes time. Eventually, we’re gonna apply for the license, and hopefully we can fight,” Mayweather said.
“Even if it takes 6 to 8 months — whatever it takes. We want to make sure that everything is done correctly.”
