This Stat Comparing Saquon Barkley and Lamar Jackson Will BLOW YOUR MIND!
There’s no denying the fact that Saquon Barkley is one of the greatest running backs to come out of college football in some time. The dude was an absolute beast at Penn State, and judging by his results at the NFL Combine earlier this month, he’s going to be an absolute beast at the professional level as well.
After looking back at all he did during his three years in a Nittany Lions uniform, it’s hard to believe that anyone playing in one of the Power Five Conferences could have matched his incredible rushing numbers throughout that same period of time. We’re here to tell you that someone has, however. And not just anyone, but a quarterback, to boot!
It’s amazing to think that a college QB could not only match Barkley’s numbers, but surpass them by a substantial margin as well. And that’s exactly what Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson did over his three seasons of college ball.
Lamar Jackson had more rushing yards in college than Saquon Barkley
(That is not a critique of Saquon Barkley, it’s just bananas to think about) https://t.co/tdhbecV4or

As Reddit user “davidabernathy” points out, Jackson totaled 4,132 yards for a 6.3 average and 50 rushing TDs in his three seasons with the Cardinals, while Barkley amassed 3,843 yards for a 5.7 average and 43 TDs. Both put up some impressive numbers, but when you consider the fact that quarterback sacks count against a QB’s rushing totals in college football, Jackson’s numbers become that much more impressive.
In the end, it’s clear that both of these guys know how to make things happen when they’re carrying the rock. Now we’ll just have to wait and see how their games translate at the NFL level.
