Westbrook After Ricky Rubio Triple-Double: “I’ll Shut That Shit Off Next Game” (VIDEO)
In the midst of the Utah Jazz’s 115-102 win over Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night, Ricky Rubio became the first Jazz player since John Stockton in 2001 to get a triple-double in the playoffs. Rubio finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. “Having my name next to his name is an honor,” Rubio said, according to ESPN. “I don’t know what else to say. It’s huge. Have huge respect for him, and playing here is great because I know how important a point guard he is for this franchise.”
It was a monumental night for Rubio, something that Russell Westbrook plans on not letting happen again this series. Following Game 3, the OKC Thunder star made it clear that he wouldn’t be that comfortable again.
“He made some shots,” Westbrook said in the post-game conference. “Too comfortable. But I’ma shut that shit off next game, though. Guarantee that.”
Westbrook, himself, is averaging 20.7 points, 11.0 rebounds and 10.0 assists in the series. Westbrook can live up to his guarantee in Game 4 on Monday in Utah, where the Jazz have the opportunity to go up 3-1 in the series.
