Braves Fan Has Hilarious Reaction to Catching Ronald Acuna’s First Career Home Run (VIDEO)
Baseball fans everywhere and in particular fans in Georgia have been waiting very eagerly for the Atlanta Braves to call up top prospect Ronald Acuna. The 20-year-old outfielder hit .325 with 21 home runs, 82 RBIs, and 44 stolen bases last season, rocketing from single- to triple-A. Then he hit .432 with four home runs, four stolen bases, and a 1.247 OPS in 16 spring training games. However, the Braves opted to send him back to the minors to start the season so they could push his free-agent eligibility back another year.
Fortunately, the Braves finally called Acuna up this week. And he has hit the ground running. Acuna went 1-for-5 at the plate in his major league debut on Wednesday, and on Thursday he went 3-for-4 and cracked his first big league dinger.
It was no ordinary dinger, either. It was a 416-foot bomb that landed in the second deck at Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark. And nobody was happier about it than the Braves fan who caught it.
According to Fox Sports Southeast, that fan’s name is Joe Webster, and he drove up from Atlanta to Cincinnati the night before just to see Acuna. When he caught the ball—and it was a pretty nice catch—the dude immediately grabbed his bag and sprinted out of the stands and down the concourse like a kid after an ice cream truck.
It was hilarious. Take a look:

Hopefully Webster played hardball with the Braves and scored some season tickets and a bunch of swag in exchange for that ball. He definitely earned it.
