Former NFL RB Trent Richardson Suspended By CFL Team
Former Tide running back Trent Richardson’s career continues to trend downwards after he was forced to take his talents to the Canadian Football League, and it’s not going the way he thought it would.
In 2017, the former NFL RB played in just 4 games, rushing for 259 yards and two touchdowns. He’ll have to wait to play in 2018 after his team, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, announced on Saturday that he had been placed on the suspended list.
The Roughriders announced the move on Saturday as training camps opened across the CFL. The release did not give a reason for his suspension, nor did it indicate when he would be allowed to return.
Richardson, the third pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, signed with the Roughriders in September of 2017 and is considered to be one of the biggest busts in NFL history.
