Marco Rubio Defends Kaepernick: “There Aren’t 63 Better QBs In The World” (VIDEO)
It’s been over a year since Colin Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers in March 2017, and he still remains a free agent, in large part because of the stance he took during the National Anthem during the 2016 season.
Colin Kaepernick hasn’t made too many friends in politics with his stance, as evident with President Donald Trump’s very public back and forth with the NFL for not dealing with players properly for ‘disrespecting the country.’
While he doesn’t agree with how he went about it, U.S. senator Marco Rubio recently went on record to defend the former San Francisco 49ers QB, stating he indeed belongs in the league, which he told TMZ Sports.
“Look, I support his right to stand for what he does,” the republican senator tells us … “I don’t agree with what he did but I support his right to do it.”
“But if we’re just talking football … there aren’t 63 better quarterbacks in the world.”
Rubio stated he wasn’t too sure NFL owners colluded against him to keep him out of the league because of his stance, but he certainly believes Colin has the talent to be on an NFL roster.
