LeBron James on Stats That Say He’s Slowing Down: ‘Kiss My Ass’
With this being his 15th year in the league, many expected LeBron James to start slowing down as he’s been to seven consecutive NBA Finals, and currently fighting to make it 8 in a row.
Watching him on the court, you can clearly see that The King is trying to fight father time and keep winning, but according to NBA’s tracking data, which keeps record of every player’s movement on the court, LeBron is actually the slowest player on the court. The data clocks him in at an average speed of 3.4 MPH during the first three game of the Celtics-Cavs series.
This data was brought to LeBron’s attention on Tuesday and he wasn’t having it:
“That’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard,” James told The Athletic after his 44 points evened this series at two games each. “That tracking bullshit can kiss my ass. The slowest guy? Get out of here.”
James then offered a suggestion…
“Tell them to track how tired I am after the game, track that shit,” James said. “I’m No. 1 in the NBA on how tired I am after the game.”
