Twitter Reacts To ESPN Congratulating Jemele Hill For Getting An Award After They Suspended Her (TWEETS)

ESPN Can’t be this tone deaf, right?

Last year, Jemele Hill found herself suspended for two weeks in October for tweeting about Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and asking for a boycott from advertisers after Jones threatened to sit any player on the roster for kneeling during the National Anthem.

This week, Hill was named Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists, an award that recognizes  someone “who has amassed a distinguished body of work with extraordinary depth, scope and significance to the people of the African Diaspora.”

On Tuesday, ESPN sent this tweet out:


That had many people confused, because her winning the award had much to do with her standing up for what she believed in. But that also happens to be the reason why she was suspended by ESPN several months earlier.
