L.A. Galaxy Superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic Ejected For Slapping Opponent In The Face (VIDEO)

When the Los Angeles Galaxy signed Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic, fans knew they were getting a one of the greatest goal-scorers of all time who could change the course of a game when you least expect it.

On Monday, Ibrahimovic definitely changed the course of a game when fans least expected it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t by scoring a goal.

During the 41st minute of Los Angeles’ game against the Montreal Impact, Montreal’s Michael Petrasso stepped on Ibrahimovic’s foot. It was almost certainly an accident, but Ibrahimovic didn’t care. He immediately cocked his arm and slapped Petrasso across the side of his head. Hard.

Hilariously, at that point both Petrasso and Ibrahimovic crumbled to the ground in feigned agony, Petrasso holding his head, Ibrahimovic holding his foot. However, after consulting a video replay of the incident, the referees made the right call. They gave Petrasso a yellow card for embellishment, and they gave Ibrahimovic a straight red card and an automatic ejection.

The Galaxy went on to win the game 1-0 despite being shorthanded. But you know fans are hoping for fewer assaults and more golazos going forward.
