Report: Former Mavs Exec Retained Job Despite Watching Porn & Masturbating In Office

The Dallas Mavericks are currently embroiled in an internal investigation headed by new CEO Cynthia Marshall regarding reports of a workplace culture filled with sexual harassment and outright assault. According to a scathing report, that investigation needed to happen years ago as at least one employee got to keep his job despite his unacceptable workplace behavior.

Seven current and former employees, who requested to remain anonymous, said that former Dallas Mavericks senior account executive Chris Hyde would often show co-workers images of topless, naked, or lingerie-clad women on his phone, according to The Dallas Morning News’ Brandon George and Eddie Sefko.

His co-workers called him “Pants DJ.” He would sit at his desk in the Dallas Mavericks ticket sales office, stare at pornographic images on his cellphone or computer and rub himself below his belt line.

He once dropped a used condom onto the office floor.

This pattern of behavior would continue for six years despite a warning from owner Mark Cuban that he stop viewing pornography on his office computer. Somehow, he still got to keep his job.

Despite this behavior, five of the former employees said they never formally complained to human resources because they believed the actions were common knowledge and generally accepted by superiors.

Chris Hyde’s tenure with the Mavericks ended when he was finally fired in 2014
