USC Women’s Track & Field Pulls off Unbelievable Comeback To Capture National Championship (VIDEO)
One thing that comes to mind when watching this footage is Jimmy V and his speech about never giving up.
The University of Southern California’s fight song is called ‘Fight On,’ and their track team did exactly that when the odds were heavily stacked against them.
The team needed a win in the 4x400m to win the National Championship, but for most of the race, they were trailing by a significant margin. Kendall Ellis seemed to be fading towards the end, but she somehow found a burst of energy to sprint forward and pass Purdue at the last possible second and win the race.
With less than 100 meters to go, USC was in third place behind Purdue and Oregon. Then this happened:
