REPORT: Clippers Willing To Trade Tobias Harris & High Draft Pick For Kawhi Leonard
Last week, reports stated that Kawhi Leonard made it clear that he wanted out of San Antonio via trade, preferably before the start of the new season. Rumors suggested that his top destination would be the Staples Center in Los Angeles, to play for the Lakers.
Now it’s being reported that another team who plays in that same building would like to have a word with him.
The Los Angeles Clippers are trying to find their next superstar and are willing to part ways with Tobias Harris and either the 12th or 13th pick in the upcoming 2018 NBA Draft to acquire Kawhi Leonard, according to Tania Ganguli of The Los Angeles Times.
The Clippers, however, are concerned about Kawhi’s health. Leonard only suited up for nine games last season as he continued to rehab his quad injury that was suffered during the 2017 playoffs against the Golden State Warriors.
On the outside looking in, this seems like a terrible trade for the Spurs, but Tobias Harris had his best season as a pro, averaging a career-high 18.6 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 41.1 percent from deep as a member of the Pistons and Clippers — after he was traded to the latter in the Blake Griffin deal.
