Phillie Phanatic Shoots Hot Dog Into Fan’s Face, Sending Her To Hospital; Suffers Hematoma In Eye
Who knew a hot dog could be so dangerous??
On Monday night, a game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals would become extremely dangerous for a fan in the stands and she would need to be sent to the hospital as a result.
The Phillie Phantic was launching hot dogs into the stands when an arrant dog hit Phillies fan Kathy McVay in the face.
“It just came out of nowhere. And hard,” McVay said.
“And then the next thing I know he shot it in our direction, and bam! It hit me like a ton of bricks. My glasses flew.”
McVay was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a small hematoma in her eye, along with soreness and bruises.
She explained, “I have a small hematoma in my eye. And mostly, it’s going to get worse before it gets better. It’s going to go down the side of my face.”
McVay claims she has no intentions of suing the Phillies but she did caution other fans to “be aware” of flying objects while at the ballpark. Sources close to the team also told Bloomquist that the Phanatic “feels terrible” about causing her injuries.
